At ONE IT, we believe in a proactive approach to information technology management.  As with any part of an organization, the IT system has to pull its own weight.  It has to increase productivity,  reduce business risk, be reliable and help add to the bottom line.

A proactive approach to information technology starts with a technical assessment and development of a three to five year IT strategy document. From this document, you will have a solid idea of where your organization is today, where you and your team see yourselves in the future and an in-depth analysis of the gap between where you are and where you want to be.

You will have a roadmap of what you must do to jump the gap.  A multi year budget outlining your IT costs, allowing you to prepare for IT expenses rather than be surprised.  This will give you time to do your due diligence prior to implementation.

Take a proactive approach to procurement.  Before you purchase any piece of hardware or software for your computer system, have a plan for it.  Who will use it first, what will you do with it when they are finished with it.  What will happen after its second career is over.  How will we maintain it while we have it in use?  When will it become too costly to maintain or involve too much business risk to keep it in operation?  This is all part of an evergreening plan that involves each computer purchase.
